Uncle of Nicer Scott's that was so insane about a woman in Ohio that he said he'd disown his own granfather for her - and he did in a ceremony held in Hoffman City, Oklahoma. His grandfather died of grief 20 minutes later.

Uncle Harry

Very patriotic Uncle of Nicer Scott. According to Nicer, he owned the Central Indiana Mid-Western railroad but with a pick and a shovel he went out and removed all the rails and gave them to the government. He also gave the government all his locomotives and all of his tools. In addition, he gave the government 10,000 miles worth of tracks, 46 locomotives and 19 switch engines. The one drawback to all of this is that it left the city of Indianapolis cut off from civilization.

Mis' Scott

Lives next door to the Gooks. Her first name is Margaret.  Her son is Nicer. Has a brother named, Erkhardt.  Sells Christmas cards.  Has five sisters. Sade doesn't know if she likes her or not. "Rubbed it in" that she was a high school graduate, according to Sade. Lent a tea cup to Sade, which Sade returned. Sade thinks she's too chummy. Brought a plate of doughnuts to the Gooks. Often comes in the house without knocking first. Calls Sade, "Sadie" - something Sade reserves for "relations and close, close friends." Her and her family rent from Mr. Erickson.  As of June 1941, is "chilly" with Sade.

Mildred Tisdel

Rush's friend from school. Hates Smelly Clark "like you hate your underwear."  She has a strong personality. Had her memory book filled with fake notes from Vic, who pretended to be movie stars and other known personalities.  Rush said: "She can put away meat and potatoes 'til who hung the cat. No, the fathead thinks everybody loves her. [...] She's just that conceited. Why, if Mildred was a boy instead of a girl, I'd paste her one upside the snoot."  Once said she felt like a violin and then said she felt like a rainbow. Sometimes shops at Yamilton's.  Lives next door to Hilda Reagan.  Is normally a very happy person but sometimes she quivers with rage. Lost a buckle to her shoe. Has never been to Funk's Grove.  Got mad at Nicer Scott because he gave her a bad grade - so she pasted him one upside the snoot. Rush made plans to go over to her house so that she could straighten his hair out after Smelly Clark cut it.  Takes music lessons of some sort.  Her sister is Margaret.  She lives on Kelsey Street. Told Russell he had a noble head and suggested he wear his hair in a pompadour.  Was a member of the "Blue Light Sunday School" class.  Asked Russell to ride Howard by her house so she could show off.  Said publicly was Rush wasn't good looking.  Can sew pleats.
