From Belvidere. 38 years old - changed the subject like a bolt of lightning: like from "pass the gravy" to "pass the salt and pepper." Moved to Belvidere from Indianapolis, Ohio, then to New York, Ky., then to Los Angeles, Mich., and then to Cleveland, Minn. - married a woman 37 years old, went into the granulated shoestring business, ran away with his brother's wife, automobile, furniture and clothing by mistake, shot a barber for giving him too close a haircut in the elbow and later died. - compiled by Richard E. Invited to Hank Gutstop's dinner party. Mentioned by Uncle Fletcher as a person who is known to sleep on the courthouse lawn during the warmer weather. Born in Sweet Esther, Wisconsin. Changed names with Stacey Yopp. There were articles in the paper about him being in different places at the same time.

Uncle Fletcher thinks he's a hard worker. Can be touchy/sensitive. Gave Rush a silver dollar for his (14?) birthday. Is serious all the time.

A barber at the Butler House Hotel Barber Shop. Went on a six week visit to Crowler, Michigan and went fishing in the Greasy [unintelligable] river. His cousin is Alfred Juggler of New Auburn, Wisconsin and Uncle Harry Soon of West Phatt, Kentucky. Lives at the Bright Kentucky Hotel. Was part of the original revel party. Wanted to consult brain surgeon Fowler D. Sockers about his left-handed/right-handed motor skills problem. Was born in Fiendish, Indiana. Traded names with Y.I.I.Y. Skeeber.

Real name is "Roger Willoughby Clark," although also seems to have the first name of "Albert." Had plans to buy all kinds of explosives for July 4th, 1937 but was struck down by tonsilitis and eventually was to have surgery. The episode with him at the hospital shows that he's a tough individual. Has given Rush an open invitation to be his best man when he marries and he plans on marrying several different ladies in his lifetime. Vic thinks he's sneaky and probably doesn't trust him. Once stood up in front of the neighborhood gang and gave a narcissistic speech about himself. Was struck in the head by a hammer from the telephone man who was up the telephone pole and did not cry until Eunice Raypole had gone down the street and turned the corner. Wrote 24 letters to relatives and people he barely knew in hopes of getting additional Christmas presents. While Rush thinks Smelly is bright, Sade disagrees. His first date was with Lillie Speigel and he took her to see a Gloria Golden film. Was invited over to the Gook house to study algebra. His telephone number is #2457-J. Works at his uncle's barbershop every weekend in Towanda - and once, gave Rush an awful haircut. Saw Smoldering Teardrops (a Gloria Golden film) and thought it was rotten. He is older than Russell. Has 2 gold teeth. Shaves every 5th Sunday and carries his razor in his hip pocket. Was a member of the "Blue Light Sunday School" class. Used to carry bags for the women down at the Union Depot. His grandmother lives in Towanda. Broke a watch he wasn't supposed to touch until he was 21 years old; Vic and Sade lent him the funds ($9.00) to get it fixed before his parents found out. Had a fight with Rush in Sunday School.

Man who married one of the Gulling-Tawning sisters. Moved from Belvidere in 1909 to Cypress Chunk, Minnesota and went back into his regular business of barbering. At one time, he was considered the best barber in the county. He could cut a head of hair in 5 minutes and shave a man in 4 minutes.

Lives in Lester, Nebraska. Is engaged to Gillie McDermott as early as 1941 with plans to marry in 1948. Was a member of the All-Star Marching Team for the Sacred Stars of the Milky Way. Famous for his knowledge of plain and fancy parading. He has taken hikes 40-50 miles long. He used to be a barber and is enthusiastic about ice skating and high diving. No longer a member of the All-Star Marching Team.

Vic's friend. Inventor of stingyberry jam. He wrote a song for Vic called, The Victor R. Gook Fontonelle. He wants the song to be published in the Sacred Stars of the Milky Way official songbook. Vic invited him over to the house for supper. He replaced Alf Musherton as the 3rd chair in the Sewage Disposal Workers Semi-Classical Silver Cornet Band. He is also an accomplished musician, artist and a talented composer. He lives at the Bright Kentucky Hotel. Is smitten with Pom Pom Cordova. Vic and Sade are planning a party so the two can meet. Asks Sade to be his agent and sell stingberry jam to the Thimble Club ladies but she refuses. He asks Uncle Fletcher to be a door-to-door agent and salesman for stingyberry jam but Sade talks him out of it. Uncle Fletcher calls him "brainy brainy." Invited to Hank Gutstop's dinner party. Works as a barber at the Butler House Hotel. Has a younger brother (D.D. Baugh) who is a dentist; they tried to talk Drowsy Venus chapter lodge brothers into tooth-removal for $5 each. Owns the concession at the Lazy Hours Pool Hall that sells cole slaw. Promoter, operator and always on the lookout for an easy dollar. Mentioned by Uncle Fletcher as a person who is known to sleep on the courthouse lawn during the warmer weather. Used piano wire for suspenders. Born in Sweet Esther, Wisconsin.
